Is such a hearing aid suitable for me?
Unfortunately, this question cannot be answered directly. Whether and which Widex hearing aid is right for you depends on your degree of hearing loss and the features you want. It is a very personal purchase. Fortunately, our hearing care specialists are here to give you honest advice. You can always contact us for a free, no-obligation appointment.
What is the price of a Widex hearing aid?
The price of a hearing aid is not straightforward. What you pay depends on the hearing protocol, your health insurance and your deductible. This works as follows:
Categorization
Based on a questionnaire, hearing test and conversation with the hearing care professional, you will be assigned to one of five categories. This category represents your degree of hearing loss and the necessary need you have. If you choose a hearing aid from your category, health insurance will reimburse (part of) the cost.
Basic insurance
The basic insurance covers up to 75% of the cost of your hearing aid. This depends on your deductible. Do you have any outstanding deductible? Then this will be settled first and the health insurance company will pay the remainder of that 75%.
The co-payment
The remaining 25% is the co-payment. In principle, you pay this yourself, unless you have supplementary insurance for this. If you have used your deductible and have supplementary insurance for the full co-payment, your hearing aid is completely free.
A hearing aid from the private market
Outside the hearing protocol, there are also hearing aids on the private market. These do not fall within a category and are therefore called out-of-category. An outside category hearing aid is usually a hearing aid with more advanced functions. Because these functions are not considered necessary, the hearing aid is not classified within the hearing protocol. However, you may want these features. You still have the option of purchasing an out-of-category hearing aid. When you do so, it will only not be reimbursed by the health insurance company, and you will pay for it entirely yourself.
