Is a Starkey hearing aid for me?
A hearing aid is very personal, which is why we cannot simply answer that question for you on a website. It depends entirely on your wants and needs. Fortunately, we have the best hearing care specialists in-house who will be happy to advise you. Make an appointment soon!
What does a hearing aid cost?
What a hearing aid will cost you depends on the hearing protocol and reimbursement from your health insurance company. On the basis of a questionnaire and anamnesis, you will be placed in 1 of 5 categories, depending on your degree of hearing loss. When you choose a hearing aid which is in your category, your health insurance will reimburse a maximum of 75% of the costs under the basic insurance. This maximum is reached when you have already spent your deductible. The remaining 25% is your own contribution, which in principle you always pay, unless you have additional insurance for hearing care. So it may be that your hearing aid is completely free!
You can also choose a hearing aid from a higher category than you are assigned to. The health insurance company will then only reimburse the costs as if you had chosen a hearing aid from the assigned category. You pay the remaining amount yourself.
The very best hearing aids are not within the hearing protocol. We call these the outer category. They are the most advanced devices. Because they do not fall within the hearing protocol, they are not covered by health insurance. When you opt for an out-of-category hearing aid, you pay for it entirely yourself.
