Our Contracts with Health Insurers 2025

Choosing a hearing aid is an important step toward better hearing for many people. In the Netherlands, the hearing protocol in cooperation with your health insurance company determines which hearing aid is suitable within the category you are assigned to. In this blog, we explain how this process works, why we do not have contracts with certain health insurers, and what this means for you as a client.

The Hearing Protocol and Category Classification.

When applying for a hearing aid, the hearing protocol is used to help determine the most appropriate hearing solution based on your situation. During a comprehensive intake at the hearing care professional, your hearing loss, needs and lifestyle are identified. Based on this information, you will be assigned to one of five categories, with category 1 covering basic hearing needs and category 5 offering the most advanced solutions.

The hearing care professional then works with you to determine which hearing aid is best for you, choosing from a pool of hearing aids in your category determined by the suppliers under duress of the health insurance company. This often means that there are restrictions on the choice of device, depending on which manufacturers and suppliers the insurer has agreements with.

Why We Don’t Have Contracts with All Health Insurers

We believe that everyone is entitled to the best possible hearing solution, without being limited by contractual obligations with health insurance companies, which frequently come at the expense of quality and freedom of choice. This doesn’t fit with our mission to provide you with optimal hearing that fully meets your personal needs.

With us, your hearing experience is paramount. This is why we have chosen not to enter into contracts with certain health insurance companies. This gives us the freedom to offer you a wide range of options, including premium models and innovative technologies, without being limited by price agreements.

Health Insurers Without Contract in 2025

We do not have contracts with the following health insurance companies:

  • Care and Security
    • AZVZ
  • Menzis
    • Anderzorg
    • VinkVink
  • VGZ
    • VGZ Bewuzt
    • IZA
    • IZZ
    • UMC
    • Univé
    • United Consumers VGZ
    • ZEKUR
  • ASR

Although we do not have direct partnerships with these insurers, you can still come to us for high-quality hearing solutions.

What Does This Mean For You?

The lack of a contract means that you will unfortunately have to pay a little more, but we will also be able to offer you the right hearing aid. The cost of your hearing aid is still determined by the basic insurance, the deductible, the co-payment and any additional insurance. You are still insured and can simply come to us. The process is just slightly different. Here’s how it works:

  • Billing: You will receive an invoice from us that you can submit to your health insurance company. The amount is transferred to you by the insurer, after which you pay it to us. This way you don’t have to advance it yourself.
  • Freedom of choice: Without contractual restrictions, we can offer you more choice within your category. This allows us to offer you a device that better suits your needs and lifestyle.
  • Free upgrade: When you purchase a hearing aid from us, we offer you a free upgrade to a rechargeable model. You only pay for the charger, which has a value of € 199.

This model offers you more flexibility and freedom so you can enjoy the best hearing solution without compromise.
