Robert and Sandra, the owners of Horend Goed, made the decision just over a year ago to trade the hustle and bustle of Assendelft for the peace and quiet of Sint Maarten in North Holland (no, not the island!). For them, it was time to enter a new phase of life and follow their hearts to a place where they could enjoy peaceful surroundings and spend more time with their family.
But even with this move, Robert and Sandra did not want to give up their passion for Horend Goed. They worked hard to find a work-life balance, and one of the ways they did that was by moving the warehouse to Schagen. This was not only a time-saving decision, but also an environmentally conscious one. It allowed them to work more efficiently while reducing emissions from traveling back and forth between Krommenie and Schagen.
The Warehouse: The Backbone of Our Web Shop
Today, our warehouse in Schagen is the beating heart of our online operations. Here we manage our entire assortment, provide customer service and ensure that all our shipments are processed quickly and efficiently. With nearly 1,500 items in our range, we need a space that is not only large enough to store everything, but also organized so that we always know exactly where each product is located.
Sandra and her brother-in-law Edwin are responsible for the ins and outs of the warehouse. While Sandra focuses on customer service, Edwin ensures that all products are neatly stored, orders are shipped on time, and that the warehouse keeps running smoothly. For us, getting Edwin involved in the business was a logical choice because, like us, he appreciates the peace and quiet of the north.
And while our warehouse may seem far away from Krommenie, in reality it is an essential link in the service we provide to our customers. We have designed our warehouse to be efficient, which means that orders are processed and shipped quickly.
